PASTOR FUNKE ADEJUMO BIOGRAPHY

born to Ibadan, Oyo State on 28 January 1963, Funke was raised by an extremely religious family. The father of her was strict in his discipline while she was raised by a fervent Christian. She confessed the fact that she and her parents were in need due to unplanned circumstances. She also revealed that her relatives were expecting a child but not her.

When she was a kid, Funke would seek ways to earn money to buy food items for those younger than her. The girl sold plantains chips (which she made herself) and also did manual work such as washing dishes for parties, and was even a domestic worker when she was eight.

Funke Felix-Adejumo is a pastor author and motivational speaker. She is the director of Agape Christian Ministries with her husband and serves as director of the Funke Felix Adejumo Foundation. The couple first met at the University of Ibadan in 1982 during the time that Funke was a student there. They got married on the 8th of September in 1984. The couple established Agape Christian Ministries in 1987. Agape Christian Ministries in 1987 and now it has more than 30 branches in Nigeria and even one located in Lekki, Lagos.

Pastor Funke Adejumo is a mother of four biological children (two girls and two boys) and a few adopted children.

Apart from being involved in the Christian church, Funke together with her husband are also philanthropists that have empowered a lot of people financially. She is president of the Funke Felix Adejumo Foundation (FFAF) which is a non-governmental organization which empowers women and children. The FFAF has helped many widows and orphans cash and food items via the “Feed My Sheep” program.

An exclusive conversation in an exclusive interview with Sunday Scoop, Rev. Funke Adejumo, wife of Bishop Felix Adejumo and founder of the Women in the New Evangelism (WINE) ministry, discussed how she met her husband. She explained:

“I have met his (my husband) when I was an undergraduate student at the university of Ibadan. We got married in 1984. Then we moved in Akure at the end of 1988. He was then a pastor. I didn’t get married to the pastor’s wife; I got married an urban planner.

Rev. Adejumo added that she did not anticipate to marry her husband, but then realized they had a common interest in ministry. She added:

“I didn’t think I’d collaborate with my husband in the ministry. When he was ordained as pastor, I realized the way we matched and chose to be co-pastor.”
