The following Bible Verses About Healing A Broken Heart tell us about God’s plan for the heartbroken.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.

Psalm 51:17(NASB)

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for a man or woman of faith can only offer the Lord the sacrifice of a broken heart – a living sacrifice worthy of His acceptance.

If their heart is broken before the Lord and genuinely humbled under a deep conviction of one’s unworthiness before a holy and righteous God, God won’t despise such an individual.

This psalm was written by David, a man who loved the Lord and offered many sacrificial tributes to Him.

But David understood that it was not the blood of bulls and goats that pleased the Lord but a broken heart before Him – a heart that was embarrassed and genuinely apologetic.

God’s offerings are a shattered spirit.

Matthew 11:28-30

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. ”

Matthew 11:28-30

The heavy yoke of sin’s enslavement is a terrible load we all have to bear in life, causing bodily exhaustion, spiritual exhaustion, and heartache.

Christ’s appeal for all to “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavily laden,” on the other hand, provides rest to the weary, consolation to the suffering, solace to the heavily laden, and rest for the soul.

Although Jesus extends this gracious invitation to all people in the Gospel of Matthew, it was first opened to Israel.

He was the Jewish Messiah, descended from Israel’s renowned King David’s royal line.

In fulfillment of Scripture, he came to the lost sheep of the house of Israel, calling the entire country to repentance.

Psalm 147:3

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

~ Psalm 147:3(ESV)

When difficulties or problems arise in life, and we are heartbroken, we need to turn to the comforting words of Scripture.

We need to grab a promise and hold on to it, knowing that we have a wonderful and faithful God who has promised to be with us through all of life’s twists and turns.

He has committed to our sufficiency in all situations.

Amid the hardships that life seems to shower over our heads or that try to bury us in the depths of depression, there is a magnificent peace that the Lord can provide to those who are His – we need to rest in the faith that we have in our Saviour.

Bible verses about healing a broken heart KJV

Psalm 34:18

The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Psalm 34:18 (kjv)

Because He has demonstrated Himself to be a God who cares for the broken hearted, our God and heavenly Father merits our unending and eternal love and appreciation.

He is the God who saves us from all of our troubles. He hears those who call on His name.

He frees His people from their concerns and consoles those beset by despair and disappointment.

God is not a respecter of persons, for He hears the poor man’s pleas and sees the path of the upright.

His face opposes those eager to do evil, and He is close to those who fear His name. In His love and grace, the Lord rescues people who are being harmed.

2 Corinthians 5:7

For we walk by faith, not by sight

~ 2 Corinthians 5:7(NASB)

Paul was moved to proclaim the gospel of God and expose the Christian faith’s glory to the people by Christ’s constraining love.

Paul required these believers to comprehend the New Covenant’s essence, which is believing in Our Lord Jesus Christ in guiding us through any form of heart.

Unbelievers cannot earn their salvation through acts of the Law, and Christians cannot live a God-honoring life through fleshly deeds.

We are saved by faith rather than deeds of the flesh, and we must walk by faith rather than sight.

Faith is the ability to believe everything God has said in His Word. Therefore, accepting scripture truth as a definite fact is faith.

Faith knows that what we hope for in Christ will undoubtedly come to pass.

Hebrews 13:5

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

~ Hebrews 13:5, KJV

This chapter outlines certain areas where the author wants to encourage proper Christian behavior.

Brotherly love, hospitality, assistance for the abused and imprisoned, and a focus on sexual integrity have all been among them.

Other passages in the New Testament, such as Romans 1:24–27, emphasize the need to avoid sexual sin because of its appeal and power.

In many cases, the repercussions of immorality are just the natural outcomes of those dangerous activities.

When we obey God’s word as written here, God, in His mercy, will forgive us and heal our broken hearts.

Bible verses about God healing broken hearts

Isaiah 41:10

‘Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

~ Isaiah 41:10(NASB)

God is the One who encourages His children not to be afraid because He can calm a raging storm and heal the brokenhearted.

He is the One who urges us not to worry and forbids us from worrying about what evildoers might want to do to us.

He asks us to cast all our worries on Him because He loves us and pledges to be with us always, even until the end of time.

The Lord Jesus commands us not to be discouraged or disheartened because He is our God, and that reality should be enough.

1 Peter 5:7

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

~ 1 Peter 5:7, KJV

Christians must submit to God’s tremendous hand, trusting He will exalt us at the appropriate moment.

We are taught that when we recognize our inadequacies and inabilities, strength will be freely given to us and that we must hand over all of our worries and disappointments to the Lord, who has promised to carry all of our loads because of His lovingkindness and gentle mercy toward us.

All we have to do is recognize our deficiency in humility of heart and accept His generous invitation to cast all our troubles on Him, knowing that He loves us and is more than capable of assisting us in our time of need.

When the cares and anxieties of this world are surrendered to the Lord in humility of heart, He pours His peace into that life.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you”-[this is] the Lord’s declaration-“plans for [your] welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Jeremiah 29:11(HCSB)

Prophet Jeremiah wrote a letter of consolation to the Jews who had been banished to Babylon.

His letter was addressed to all the people, including the elders and priests. God’s plans for His people, he assured, were anchored in His never-failing faithfulness to them.

He promised them future peace and magnificent hope.

Despite their disobedience to the holy one of Israel, God’s gracious thoughts toward His people, as well as the plans He had set for them, were intended to prosper them and offer them peace and comfort and healing from their broken hearts as safety and success.

Bible verses emotional healing

John 14:27

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

~ John 14:27, KJV

Christ’s “peace” here refers to hope and certainty greater than what the fallen world can provide for us.

Scholars believe Jesus is distinguishing between being worried in One’s “spirit,” which refers to anguish and sadness, and being tormented in One’s “heart,” which relates to fear and despair.

At times, Jesus was reported to have a troubled spirit. However, he is not advocating for Christians to be inhumane. Instead, it is to accept that suffering will come, but for us to believe in Him as He is the only One that can grant us eternal peace.

John 16:33

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

~ John 16:33, KJV

This verse’s statement contains instruction, remembering, caution, and encouragement.

Jesus has stated that following Him can result in persecution and pain from friends and family. Still, born-again believers should rejoice because they know Christ has already won the ultimate victory, and nothing can change that (Romans 8:38–39).

The fact that Christ foretold the coming of hard times (John 15:20–21) should reassure believers: God is not surprised by these events.

His express goal is to encourage Christians; rather than reacting in dread or uncertainty, Christians should recognize that these events are part of God’s larger plan, and He will guide them through it.

Psalm 55:22

Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

~ Psalm 55:22, KJV

Despite his overwhelming difficulties, David could turn his eyes on the Lord and cast his burdens upon Him.

David knew that God would sustain him through every difficulty he faced, for God will never allow the righteous to be shaken.

Today, we might be heartbroken like David was; we might even be increasingly overwhelmed by terrors and threats from without, causing many worries and fainting within;

However, we are told throughout the Bible not to be afraid because the Lord our God is with us wherever we go, and we are encouraged to cast all our cares upon Him.

Bible Verses About Healing A Broken Heart

Bible verse for a broken heart relationship

Luke 24:38

And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?

~ Luke 24:38, KJV

Although the disciples had recently been heartbroken because of the death of Christ, Jesus appeared miraculously to them.

Jesus is seen in this verse assuring them of his peace and promising spiritual peace with every blessing.

Many troubling thoughts plaguing our brains stem from erroneous beliefs about Christ abandoning us.

The Lord Jesus is aware of all the troubling thoughts in our hearts at any given time and has promised to always be with us in difficult times.

He confronted them about their irrational skepticism. Nothing had happened except what the prophets had predicted and what was required for sinners to be saved.

Matthew 11:28

Come to Me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 11:28(MKJV)

Christ’s appeal for people with broken hearts to “COME – Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavily laden,” that he will provide rest to the weary, consolation to the suffering, solace to the heavily laden, and rest for the soul.

Although this kind of invitation to ‘come’ is extended to everyone, it was first developed in Israel by Jesus.

In fulfillment of Scripture, He came to the lost sheep of the house of Israel, inviting the entire country to repent of their sins, return to the Lord, and trust HIM as Saviour.

Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding.

~ Proverbs 3:5(NASB)

Faith in God’s Word is His will for every one of our lives. Thus, trusting Him in all matters is a core precept.

Because God is the origin and conclusion of all knowledge, trusting Him unconditionally is the center and circumference of all wisdom.

When we have faith in Him, he will guide us through any heartbreak we might face in life.
