In the Old Testament, God tested Abraham by asking him to sacrifice his son Isaac (Genesis 22:1-19).

In the New Testament, Jesus tells his disciples that they will be tested and face tribulation, but that they should not be afraid because he has overcome the world (John 16:33).

The apostle James also writes about the value of testing in the letter that bears his name, stating that “consider it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness” (James 1:2-3).

Every human being goes through trying periods, thus we all encounter them. However, God will keep his word to you.

Every test and trial you go through will be screened and filtered by him so that you can handle the severity, nature, and timing of them.

As you make progress in your Christian life don’t be taken unawares, as the time for testing will always come to keep building your faith.

Romans 5:3-4

When we are in pain, we seek God’s face in prayer meditation and most importantly through studying the scriptures. We observe Him.

It becomes clear that He is active in both the circumstances and our lives. Although it may take a while, waiting helps us to become more patient.

Perseverance is a firm, steely determination that develops from patience. Here is where there is hope.

Genesis 22:1-2

Now it came about after these things, that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” He said, “Take now your son, your only son, whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I will tell you.-

Even Abraham who is known as the father of many nations was put to test by God. Every test reveals the heart’s inclinations, whether they are holy or not.

But God showed Abraham that he was not tempted to sin, as the devil does. Strong faith is frequently put to the test with difficult tasks and hard labour.

Job 2:7

Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head.-

This holy and renowned man of God never allowed his faith to be shaken given the affliction he was experiencing in all aspects of his life.

Job life should serve as a great example to you whenever you come across any test.

How God Tests our Faith

God’s plan is to build our faith and help us grow in the steadfastness of his everlasting love. According to the Bible, when our faith is put to the test, our character develops.

The faith of some of the greatest biblical heroes is put to the test and strengthened throughout Scripture.

He also utilizes these six tests to strengthen our trust.

But the trials that God puts us through evolve around many aspects of your life, including your patience and character.

Job 7:17-18

What is man that You make so much of him and that You give him so much attention and that You examine him every morning and test him every moment?.-

At a pivotal time in the history of the children of Israel immediately after leaving Egypt, this verse appears.

They are about to reach the land God has promised to their father Abraham after spending 40 years in the desert, but they anticipate a severe battle for it which comes along with great fear and trembling.

No matter what you go through, God is there for you, he does not demand that you muster all your courage from within. Embrace your courage in knowing of His assistance and power.

Testing or trial serves as a way for a person’s faith to be tested and strengthened. Also testing and trials often serve as a means of demonstrating faith and trust in God

Ultimately, the purpose of testing and trials is to help individuals grow in their relationship with God and to demonstrate their faith and trust in Him.
