The Bible states a lot about wilderness, starting from when the Israelites spent forty years in the wilderness after being released from bondage and slavery in the land of Egypt.

Israelites during their time in the wilderness were tired quite well and regretted ever leaving Egypt.

They cautioned Moses and mounted much pressure on him saying they he would have allowed them to stay in the wilderness.

This was a test of faith, God kept mute to know how much they believed and trusted in him.

Another interesting story about the wilderness is when Jesus spent 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness.

On his return, satan wanted to take advantage of him knowing fully well that Jesus was hungry but that didn’t change his stance and approach to the gospel.

Bible Wilderness lessons

Let me draw reference to the Israelites who spent 40 years in the wilderness.

In this context “faith” is sometimes difficult but if we have it done, it’s for the best of ourselves

The lesson the Israelites learned in the wilderness was the importance of obedience, they suffered in the wilderness because they failed to adhere to simple instructions given to the by God.

Another lesson we should draw from the story of the Israelites in the wilderness is the importance of patience and perseverance.

This is an important lesson to learn, patience, on the other hand, is difficult as sometimes you will get tired and be fed up knowing that what you request is so urgent.

At some point, you lose hope and get angry which God says isn’t the best and shouldn’t be the possession of a believer.

In summary, the moral lesson in the wilderness is we should have faith in God, trust his existence, be obedient and be patient with God.

We should accord God time to do his will in our lives and fulfill our purposes with ease.
