Bible Verses On Awakening

In this article, we’ll be discussing some bible verses on awakening. But then, what do you understand by the term “Awakening?” Awakening is beginning to understand, experience, recognize, realize, or become aware of something.

You wake up and regain awareness after falling asleep, whether at night or during a nap, this is referred to as an awakening.

However, this term is frequently employed more dramatically than just getting out of bed.  A religious epiphany is a spiritual awakening. Deciding to marry might be regarded as an awakening.

Whenever you discover or embrace anything significant and life-changing, it is an awakening because it is almost as if you were sleeping before.

Now that you know the meaning of the word “awakening,” we will explain further about awakening from the Christian perspective. So warm up as I take you through.

So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good. Spiritual Awakening KJV

Here’s what the King James Version of the bible talks about awakening.

5. Judges 5:12

Awake, awake, Deborah: awake, awake, utter a song: arise, Barak, and lead thy captivity captive, thou son of Abinoam.

So far, Deborah’s song has primarily focused on who she is singing to and the God to whom she sings (Judges 5:1, 4–5). She had just exhorted those who heard it to tell others about the Lord’s triumph against the Canaanite oppressors.

They should spread the word wherever they go (Judges 5:10–11). The process of Israel’s liberation from Canaanite slavery is described poetically here. God’s summons triggers the action of Deborah and Barak.

“Awake!” cries the Lord to her. This introduces the concept of awareness: becoming aware of God’s voice. Deborah is given the ability to hear God’s words as a prophetess. The Lord informs her that the time has arrived to sing.

This “song” represents, in some ways, the call she issued to Barak (Judges 4:6–10); it is also the God-given order she issued for Barak and his warriors to go into combat (Judges 4:14). In any case, this lovely metaphor shows her function as the bearer of God’s words.

Awakening Biblical Meaning

When God instructs us to wake up, we are spiritually dormant. The need for spiritual awakening is urgent. A church that has lost its way in leadership is a church that needs to wake up. When you are dead in transgressions and sins, you are sleeping.

Biblically, a spiritual awakening is not a waking from spiritual sleep but a resurrection from spiritual death. All people are born in sin and are spiritually dead. Ephesians 2:1 states that, before we knew Christ, we were dead in transgressions and sins.

Our need for spiritual awakening is profound: “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:4).

We must be roused; we must be “awakened” spiritually, or, as Jesus put it, we must be “born again” or “born of the Spirit” (John 3:3–8).

Summary

A spiritual awakening is generally a newfound awareness of a spiritual reality. A spiritual awakening can be gradual or rapid and mean different things to different people.

So it doesn’t mean staying physically awake from sleep; this concerns the spiritual mind. Be spiritually awake, to be taken up into heaven when the lord comes!
